In the late 1960s, as an alternative to The Type 34 introduced in Europe, Karmann-Ghia Brazil asked Ghia for a new version of the Type 14. Ghia turned to Italian designer Giorgetto Giuggiaro to work on the project and the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia TC (for "Touring Coupe"), officially "Type 145", was released in 1970. It's again a 2/2 coupe based on the Type 3 Variant platform, equipped with a 1,584cc boxer engine developing 65 hp at 4,600 rpm. Its maximum speed is 138 km/h. Volkswagen will produce 18,119 units between 1970 and 1976.
A silhouette in nod to the Porsche 911 but an elegance all its very close with pretty curves as classic as discreet.
