For sale - VW Double door Sunroof bus, USD 85000
Concours level work on every single surface of every nut and bolt.
This has been a project that took many many years, and built by skilled hands, with no corners cut anywhere.
Double door standard with a sunroof... you will not run across another one of these at your local VW show!
What a wonderful combination...the colors, the options, the overall finish.
This Bus is tough to beat.
This is a factory double door Bus, that was shipped to the US as a Dove Blue Kombi.
Technically it would be a 1961 model based on the production date, but it is titled to the birth date as a 1960.
The M211 option shows the 9 passenger seating option with the double flipper seat backs (not sliding door)
The Bus was restored and built as if it was a Euro delivery Standard Microbus, with the sunroof...one of the rarest models
of passenger VW's of the era, and done in what is arguably one of the best color combinations of Mango Green and Seagull Grey.
The level of detail to the restoration is truly amazing...the ashtray being a prime example of just how far the restorer went.
Look at that finish!
Showroom perfect in every way.
Factory safari windows, NOS German fog lights.
Being done as a Euro model, it has the smooth blade bumpers, and semaphore turn signals instead of the bullet style on the nose.
Safari windows are originals and the hardware is chromed to a high lustre
The interior is as nice as it gets...and some very nice period accessories have been fitted
such as the horn ring, radio and washer bottle system
The sunroof assembly is an original and has been seamlessly well installed and looks totally factory.
The double door option is a very rare one on a passenger Bus!
Center seat has folding backs on both sides.
Level of detail inside is top shelf all the way.
The stale air 40 horse engine has been fully rebuilt, as has everything on this Bus
and the detail in here is as impressive as the rest of the van.
Carb tag, German hoses, all hardware is original German stuff that has been restored and re-finished in the correct plating.
German fuel pump
Ampco upper cylinder lubricant system is a period item.
The fog lights are German Bosch units that were NOS in the box when installed.
Spotlight drivers side mirror combo is a fantastic rare accessory.
Semaphore turn signals are fully functional.
Speedometer has been restored , Kilometer style...with only 63 kilometers since completion.
Awesome early radio!
Interior is perfect!
Period accessory ashtray
Coat hooks and assist straps
Headliner is very tightly fit.
Excellent workmanship
Latches and hardware shine like new,
Door panels are done in the extremely hard to find original pattern materials
The underside of the Bus is just as impressive as the top side!
Glossy smooth paint underneath
All Kamax hardware
Even the original style seam treatment around the fender wells...just mental!
Proper seat trims are all in place
Floors are perfect
Fit and finish of everything is superb
Even the bottom side of the doors shine glossy smooth
Euro headlight buckets are NOS units as are the fog lights
Safari window antenna
Belly pans are superb
Impressive dont you think?
Crazy rare accessory front floor mat!
In closing this Bus is stunning in every way.
The quality of the work is impressive in every single spot you look.
A rare Bus, restored to absolute better than new.
